“FC Motown has worked extremely hard to get into the NPSL finals, and we would like to welcome Miami FC 2 to New Jersey for this epic battle,” FC Motown co-owner Oliver Papraniku stated in a release. “We will continue our attractive offensive game while continuously focusing on our strong defense. This game will be a pleasure to watch for all soccer fans. FC Motown will look to continue to make a name for the organization and provide our players the highest level of competition.”

Miami FC 2 found its way to the NPSL after the NASL opted to take a sabbatical in 2018, leaving its senior team, Miami FC, with no league to play in. The newly formed “reserve” side bossed its way to a Sunshine Conference title, going 8W-3D-1L (27 points) in the process.

“We are obviously ecstatic to be participating in the 2018 NPSL National Championship in our first season in the league,” said Miami FC 2 CEO Sean Flynn in a release. “There are no easy paths to this championship match, especially when 98 teams started the season with the dream of being in this position. Both clubs are certainly battle tested, and soccer fans nationwide are in for a treat Saturday night when two extremely talented teams take the field. We hope that we can finish our journey in championship style.”
