Soc Takes partners with local nonprofit Indiana Futsal

Indiana FutsalFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 16, 2018) — Footy is alive and well in the Hoosier State, which was only achieved from the bottom up. Since the growth of the game in Indiana is dependent upon giving kids free, accessible places to play and bringing communities together, two Circle City entities are teaming up to do just that.

Local 501(c)(3) Indiana Futsal and Soc Takes have officially partnered to help further the former’s cause.

Indiana Futsal is a nonprofit organization that provides public educational athletic development and competition through the sport of futsal. The organization hosts tournaments, leagues, camps, free play and other opportunities for players of all ages and levels. Indiana Futsal aims to better local communities through the strategic implementation of futsal.

“Indiana Futsal has made a staggering and profound impact throughout the state,” Soc Takes managing editor Kevin Johnston said. “Between building free public futsal courts, coordinating tournaments and other charitable events, all the while with a focus on Hoosier youths, we couldn’t imagine a more suitable soccer-specific nonprofit to partner with. We’re honored to link up with Indiana Futsal and can’t wait to aid the organization in fundraising, community engagement and promotion.”

Soc Takes will help with the promotion and coverage of the organization and its events, while also assisting in fundraising. The website plans to host gaming-related contests such as FIFA console and Texas Hold ‘Em tournaments to benefit Indiana Futsal during the annual Mayor’s International Futsal Cup and Indy Eleven tailgates.

SocTakes.com covers soccer on a global scale, including all the divisions of U.S. Soccer. Founded in 2017, the website provides a variety of content: news, features, interviews, analysis, videos, match previews and recaps. In addition to print and visual content, the site produces a weekly podcast called the Soc Takes Pod with guest appearances from some of the biggest names in soccer.

“Those of us at Indiana Futsal have been big fans of Soc Takes for some time,” said director of Indiana Futsal Justin Becht. “We are very excited about this opportunity to partner with an organization that contributes to the growth of the game all over the state. Soc Takes has such a respect for both soccer and futsal. I think it’s particularly important for local organizations to support each other’s growth, which is a huge part of what this partnership is all about.”
